Background:
Our customer, an information systems company, opened an online store in 2021 with support for international payments developed on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform. Multiple pre- payments for sales in EUR and GBP are now possible thanks to Stripe's integration into the new website. Avalara's AvaTax plug-in includes VAT computations. The customer required assistance setting up Avalara Tax calculations for several EU member states, particularly when it came to calculating VAT and validating VAT numbers during the checkout process of an online business.
Challenges:
- Calculating manual and VAT taxes for international ship-to addresses
- Multiple warehouses were necessary for the VAT computation
- No global warehouse integration or registration process exists
- There’s no allowance for digital goods and subscriptions
Solutions:
The client's Salesforce Commerce Cloud website was the subject of this project for tax integration. We offered an original, all-encompassing 360-degree solution that made use of a range of platforms. We worked on improving business process design, architecture, and execution, including:
